Director of Career Services & Academic Success

The Director of Career Services & Academic Success is responsible for the directing, coordinating, planning, implementation, and assessment of campus-wide career advising services as well as working with the Associate Dean of Academic Success in the area of academic success initiatives for students and constituents at Midway University. The role of career advising involves the delivery of comprehensive programing to provide high-quality career services to students, alumni and off-campus constituents. The Director will work closely with Orientation & New Student Programs to provide career resources, and networking opportunities. The Director will also work with the Vice President for Advancement on initiating, developing, and maintaining relationships with corporations and alumni supporting Midway University.

In partnership with the Associate Dean of Academic Success, the academic success functions include supporting retention functions and initiatives including early alert and student academic support services –including remedial services support.

Founded in 1847 and affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Midway University began admitting male students into its traditional daytime undergraduate program in August 2016.  Midway University also offers adult undergraduate degree completion and graduate programs for both women and men through evening and online delivery.  The main campus is located in Midway, Kentucky in the center of the Bluegrass Region and 15 miles outside Lexington.  More than 120-acres of the 200-acre campus are dedicated to the institution’s equine program.  Midway University also has an off-site location in Lexington, Kentucky.

Qualifications: Master’s degree required from an accredited institution preferably in student personnel administration, student development theory, higher education administration, counseling, career development or related field. Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience, demonstrating advising, counseling, career development and /or related experience.

ADMISSIONS COUNSELOR

The Office of Enrollment Services at Midway University seeks an innovative emerging educational professional to join us as Admissions Counselor. This is a full-time, 12 month position with benefits. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: delivering presentations to a diverse constituency, territory management, interviewing prospective traditional freshman and transfer students, providing general counseling to new students regarding admission processes, academic programs, and financial aid, recommending admission decisions and assisting with on and off-campus recruiting events.

Candidates must be able to work independently, work well with other departments and groups across campus, at high schools and community colleges.  Duties include representing the college at various on and off-campus recruitment events, managing a recruitment territory, interviewing prospective students, processing applications for admission, and data entry related to these functions.

Prior experience with Recruitment and 1-3 years of related work experience is highly desirable.
